First Aid Qualification?

First Aid
Posted by Hello

Alhamdulillah, after 3 hours of session, I have just completed the first section on the First Aid Course Qualification. This program will last for another 3 hours which will take place in fortnight time. Another 3 hours to go, and that's it! the certificate will be mine!! There were like 10 of us attended todays session including my best college mates; Kak Nani and Kak Dd..A lot of new things were introduced to us in the 3 hours slot. Not to 4 get to mention, the trainer was a qualified first aider, and he has been doing this job for 40 years! Ahah! Now, we're talking commitment. For the first hour, it went a bit slow and dragging. We had to hear his lecture on range of things. To much to describe. He talked about the priority of a first aider, and important aspects you need to consider when facing real casualty such as danger, response, airway, breathing and so on. All of those must be taken step by step in order to preserve, limiting the worsening and to promote recovery of one's life. To continue with, we learned how to handle unconscious casualty, putting them into safe position, giving airways for them to breath in and out. This technique is what we call as the recovering position. To perform this task, the trainer made everyone laid back, down onto the floor.Pretending to be unconscious. It was *pure humiliation* but luckily we were given the option to pick our own partner who's going to assist us. I picked Kak Nani as my partner; at least we know each other so well; it wouldn't be that embarrassing. So, Kak Nani took her position, and there she started! Ahahhaha you wouldnt imagine how it turned out.. There were too much laughter, giggles, snorts and guffaws!! As most of the skits were comedies, it had many of us laughing until our sides hurt. After that, we had to exchange positions and repeat the same task.It was pay back time!! Looking around, everybody was doing the same thing, and really seem enjoying themselves out there.. Actually it was great! Brilliant experience!!.. Not to forget, we were also introduced to CPR<-- ahah!i know what u're thinking people out there.*wink *wink. Of course we attempted this on a doll! At least it wasn't alive!!..erkk i hope it it wouldnt..Imagine them breathing?? Erkk....~no first aid course next time one might claim..~ haha.. so what's CPR? CPR is a mouth to mouth technique; only done on casualty when they had a heart attack, they choked, they drowned or in any conditions similar with no other injuries associate. We also did around 15 compressions on the chest followed by the mouth to mouth technique. This will at least clear the casualty's airway and increase the chance of surviving. However, never ever 4 get to call the ambulance in between.Don't try to be clever..Erk..Simply B'coz they are the expert. You are just first aiders! and remember that in any case, your safety as a first aider comes first!Wishing for the same wonderful experience in fortnight time!!
